Our COVENANT GOD (Ref. 35) - The ABRAHAMIC COVENANT (part 4) - 22 December 2017 (An end-time teaching from the desk of Celia Joy Martins)

 

A MAJOR DESCISION with SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES:

When Sarai, Abram's wife was barren, Sarai took matters in her own hands by convincing Abram to take her Egyptian maid-servant - Hagar - to be his secondary wife. This was a MAJOR DESCISION with SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES.

 

ABRAM AND SARAI - DESCENDANTS of SHEM:

With Abraham and Sarai that were out of SHEM'S LINEAGE, and HAGAR (an EGYPTIAN) out of HAM'S LINEAGE they were producing another offspring (mixed seed) - other than what YAHWEH planned for them.

 

From Noah's SONS, SHEM, HAM and JAPHET, the whole EARTH WAS OVERSPREAD and STOCKED with INHABITANTS as is stated in GEN. 9:18-19.

 

1. SHEM meaning "RENOWN" (fame) - "PROSPERITY"  [SHEM had FIVE SONS, ELAM, ASSHUR, LUD, ARAM and ARPHAXAD. Each of the five sons of Shem became a nation on its own, and in the days after the flood and with the Tower of Babel, they were about 300 men (from Joshua 10:13,  Jasher 7:18]

 

THE SONS OF SHEM:

Gen. 10:21 "To SHEM also, the YOUNGER BROTHER of Japhet and the ANCESTOR of ALL the CHILDREN OF EBER [including the HEBREWS] children were born. The sons of SHEM: ELAM , ASHHUR, LUD, ARAM, and  ARPACHSTAD. The sons of ARAM: UZ, HUL, GETHER, AND MASH. ARPACHSTAD became the FAHTER of EBER. To EBER were BORN TWO SONS; the NAME OF ONE was PELEG [DIVISION] because [the inhabitants of] the earth were DIVIDED UP IN HIS DAYS; and his brother's name was JOKTAN. JOKTAN became the father of ALMODAD, SHELEPH, HAZARMAVETH, JERAH, HADORAM, UXAL, KIKLAH, OBAL, ABIMAEL, SHEBA, OPHIR, HAVILAH, and JOBAB, ALL these were the sons of JOKTAN."

 

ELAM (meaning Eternity) - his sons SHUSHAN, MACHUL, and HARMON - ancestors of the ARABIANS - ELAMITES and PERSIANS.

 

ASSHUR (meaning 'a step' or 'strong') - his sons MIRUS and MOKIL - ancestors of the ASSYRIANS and NORTHERN IRAC'IS.

 

LUD (meaning 'strife') - his sons PETHOR and BIZAYON - ancestors of the LUDIANS - LUBIM - LUDIM - LUDU - LYDIANS and other related groups in ASIA MINOR and NORTH AFRICA.

 

ARAM (meaning 'exalted') - his sons UZ, HUL (Chul), GETHER (Gather) and MASH - ancestors of the ARAMEANS, SYRIANS, LEBANES and other related groups - also remnant groups throughout ASIA, NORTH AFRICA and the MIDDLE EAST.

 

ARPACSTHAD (meaning 'I shall fail') - Arphaxad had three sons: SHELAH, ANAR AND ASCHCOL.

SHELAH (Shelach) - Shelah had EBER and EBER had two sons PELEG (division) and JOKTAN. JOKTAN had sons ALMODAD, SHELEPH, HAZARMAVETH, JERAH, HADORAM, UZAL, DIKLAH, OBAL, ABIMAEL, SHEBA, OPHIR, HAVILAN and JOBAB.

from SHELAH (Shelah)  ORIGINATED the HEBREWS or JEWISH NATION (Israelites) out of which Abraham originated) -  ANAR and ASHCOL - ancestors of the CHALDEANS (Southern Iraq'is), ARABIANS, JORDANIANS, PHILISTINES, MOAB-ITES, AMON-ITES, EDOM-ITES.

 

2. HAM meaning 'HOT, BURNT or DARK'

[Ham had four sons - Mizraim, Cush, Put, and Canaan. In the times just after the flood and with the Tower of Babel, they were about 730 men (Joshua 10:13, Jasher 7:14).

THE SONS OF HAM:

MIZRAIM (EGYPT) (meaning 'double straits') - Gen. 10:13-14 "And EGYPT (MIZRAIM became the father of LUDIM, ANAMIM, LEHABIM and NAPTUHIM, PATHRUSIM, CASLUHIM (from which came the PHILISTINES) and *CAPTHORIM."

They were the ancestors of the PHILISTINES, EGYPTIANS and the COPTS (referring to some Egyptians dwelling in the Sahidic Valley (Bohairic Delta). *(The CAPTHORIM [according the the Original Hebrew Picture Word H3731  'captor, caphtor' (same as H3730) a wreath shaped island - the ORIGINAL SEAT of the PHILISTINES - descendants of the ANAKIM and AMIM (Nephilim tribes).

 

CUSH (meaning 'black')  - his sons SEBA, HAVILAH, SABTAH, RAAMA and SATECHA. - Sons of RAAMA  -  SHEBA and DEDAN; AND KUSH had  NIMROD. (Gen. 10:7-8). They were the ancestors of the ETHIOPIANS, NUBIANS, SUDAN(ESE), GHANA(IANS), BUSHMEN, PYGMIES, AUSTRALIAN ABORIGINES, NEW GUINEANS and and other related groups.

 

PUT (meaning 'a bow') - his sons GEBUL, HADAN, BENAH and DANAN - sons of the sons, PUTAYA, PUTIYA, PUNT, PUTA, PUT, LIBIA, LIBYA. They were the ancestors of the LYBIANS, CYRENACIANS, TUNISIANS, BERBERS, SOMALIANS, NORTH AFRICANS, and other related groups.

 

CANAAN (meaning 'down low')  - Gen. 10:15 "Canaan became the father of SIDON, his firstborn HETH [the HITT-ITES], the JEBUSITES the AMOR-ITES (Amori), the GIRGASH-ITES (Gergashi), The HIV-ITES (Hivi), the ARK-ITES (Arkee), the SIN-ITES (Seni), The ARVAD-ITES (Arodi), the ZEMAR-ITES (Zimod) and the HAMATH-ITES (Chamothi).  AFTERWARD, the FAMILIES of the CANAAN-ITES spread abroad."

They were the ancestors of the HIV-ITES, JEBUS-ITES, ARVAD-ITES, GIRGASH-ITES, AMOR-ITES, ARK-ITES, SIN-ITES, HITT-ITES, PERIZZ-ITES, ZEMAR-ITES, CANAAN-ITES, SIDONIANS, CANA, CHNA, CHANANI, CHANAN, CANAANA, KANA, KIENAANAH, KENA'ANI, KENA'AN, KN'NW, KINNAHU, KINAHHI, KINAHHI, KINAHNA, KINAHNE, MOGOLESE, CHINESE, JAPANESE, ASIANS, MALYASIANS, AMERICAN INDIANS, ESKIMOS, POLYNESIANS, PACIFIC ISLANDERS, and other related groups.

 

 

HAGAR LOOKED DOWN on SARAI:

Scripture tells us that when Hagar was with child, she looked down on Sarai with contempt despising her (Gen. 16:4). Genesis 16:7-10  tells the story of how Sarai sent Hagar away, (with Abram's knowledge and permission) but the Angel of YAH found Hagar by a spring of water in the wilderness on the road to Shur. The Angel of YAH told her to GO BACK to her mistress and humbly submit her to her mistress' (Sarai's) control.

 

Prophecy over Ishmael even before his birth:

ISHMAEL'S HAND will be AGAINST EVERY MAN: (as a *WILD ASS he will be):

Gen 16:11 "And the Angel of Yah continued, See now, you are with child and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Ishmael [God  hears], because YHWH has HEARD and PAID ATTENTION to your affliction.

 

Gen. 16:12 And he [Ishmael] will be AS A WILD ASS among men; his hand WILL BE AGAINST EVERY MAN and EVERY MAN'S HAND AGAINST him, and HE WILL LIVE to the EAST and on the BORDERS OF ALL HIS KINSMEN."

 

The ENEMY on the WORK AGAIN:

 Ishmael became the 'father' of the Islam (Muslim) faith. In the Moslem (Islam) belief-system:

1. Abraham had prayed to God for a son and God "heard his prayer". (this is false information)

2. Muslim interpretation (perception) of the events claims that Sarai ASKED Abraham to MARRY Hagar and soon after that Hagar BORE ISHMAEL who was Abram's FIRST BORN SON.  "As a wild ass he will be" Ishmael lived out his "calling".

 

The Book of Genesis AND Islamic traditions consider Ishmael to be the ANCESTOR of the ISHMAELITES and PARTRIARCH of an ancient TRIBAL ARAB grouping - QEDAR (QAYDAR/KEDAR) - described as the most organized of the Northern Arabian tribes. Qedar was the second son of Ishmael mentioned in Genesis 25:13 and 1 Chronicles 1:29. At the peak of its power in the 6th century BCE it controlled a vast region between the PERSIAN GULF and the SINAI PENINSULA.

 

According to the Islam (Muslim) tradition, ISHMAEL and his mother HAGAR are allegedly BURIED NEXT to the KAABA in MECCA.

 

In Babylonian culture, Ishmael (Yishma'el) is a THEOPHORIC (literally 'bearing or carrying a god') NAME translated literally as "GOD" (EL)

 

*THE WILD ASS:

As a WILD MEMBER of the HORSE family - they are larger than a donkey - CHANGING COLOR from reddish-brown  during the summer, to a grayish brown in winter. They have  a black stripe bordered in white that extends down the middle of the back. They lived in the DESERTS and other DRY, PARCHED, BARREN AREAS - anciently living in Babylonia (Mesopotamia) and Egypt. The Asiatic wild ass (Onager) living in Israel, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Jordan, Syria, Afghanistan, Russia and Siberia) is/was larger than the Egyptian wild ass.

 

This animal was a HYBRID - with a TOUGH DIGESTIVE SYSTEM - and could go without water for a long time. Their LARGE EARS gave them excellent sense of hearing and help in cooling. They lived in LOOSE HERDS of up to FIFTY INDIVIDUALS  most probably because of the sparse vegetation in the desert. THEY had VERY LOUD VOICES which CAN BE HEARD FOR OVER 3 kilometers helping them to keep in contact with other asses over the wide spaces of the desert.

 

Behavior of a wild ass:

ACTIVE LATE AFTERNOON to EARLY MORNING:

They sought shade  and shelter among the rocky cliffs during the daytime and mostly ACTIVE in the COOLER HOURS between LATE AFTERNOON and EARLY MORNING.. They were very AGILE (LIVELY, QUICK-THINKING, ALERT) and LIGHT-FOOTED CAPABLE of MOVING QUICKLY ACROSS ROCKY FIELDS and IN THE MOUNTAINS. Their favored habitats consisted of DESERT PLAINS, SEMI-DESERTS, ARID GRASSLANDS, STEPPES, MOUNTAIN RANGES, AND MOUNTAINOUS STEPPES.

 

On the flat, they could reach a speed of 70 kilometers - almost as fast as a HORSE - had particularly hard soles and its hooves grew rapidly (quickly).  UNLIKE most HOOFED MAMMALS, they DO NOT FLEE RIGHT AWAY from POTENTIAL DANGEROUS SITUATIONS, but INVESTIGATE BEFORE DECIDING what to do. When the NEED ARISE they DEFENDED THEMSELVES with KICKS FROM BOTH THIER FRONT AND HIND LEGS. They were used to pull wagons and CHARIOTS on the STANDARD OF UR and SUMER (ancient BABYLONIA)

 

Mature males DEFEND LARGE TERRITORIES up to 23 SQUARE KILOMETERS IN SIZE - marking it with DUNG heaps. The MALES have been observed holding HAREMS OF FEMALES. Their behavior could change depending on the circumstances of different habitats - threats by predators and humans etc. In good circumstances (plenty of waters etc.) the wild ass (onager) form LARGE GROUP ASSOCIATIONS of up to 450 to 1200 individuals and could DISSOLVE these MAJOR UNITS WITHIN A DAY again.

 

Gen. 16:15 -16 "And Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram called the name of his son whom Hagar bore ISHMAEL. Abram was eighty-six years old when HAGAR BORE ISHMAEL.

 

THIRTEEN YEARS WOULD PASS  (Abram 99 years old) YAHWEH RE-AFFIRMED HIS COVENANT with ABRAM - CHANGED HIS NAME to ABRAHAM (father of a multitude) - TELLING HIM that HIS posterity (future generations) would come from his and his wife's bodies - and this son - Isaac will be the one with whom YAH would ESTABLISH His COVENANT with. YAHWEH   COMMANDED CIRCUMCISION as a SIGN of HIS COVENANT with ABRAM and his descendents.

 

1. YAHWEH WILL BE THEIR GOD - FOR EVER

2.  BLESS Abram with FRUITFULNESS - the 'father' of a multitude - nations and kings will come from him.

3. COVENANT WILL BE with Abraham - with Isaac and then Isaac's future generations.

4. The LAND OF CANAAN as an EVERLASTING POSSESSION.

5. Abraham and his descendants to KEEP YAH'S COVENANT FOREVER.

6. CIRCUMCISION as the SIGN or TOKEN of YHWH'S COVENANT. HIS SIGN would be IN THEIR FLESH. Gen. 17:12 "He who is EIGHT DAYS OLD among you shall be circumcised, every male throughout your generations, whether born in [your] house or bought with [your] money from any foreigner not of your offspring. :13 He that is born in your house and he that is bought with your money MUST BE CIRCUMCISED; and MY COVENANT SHALL BE IN YOUR FLESH FOR AN EVERLASTING COVENANT. :14 And the male WHO IS NOT CIRCUMCISED, that SOUL SHALL BE CUT OFF from his people; HE HAS BROKEN MY COVENANT."

7. Sarai's name CHANGED to SARAH (PRINCESS) Gen. 17:16 "And I will BLESS her. Yes, I WILL BLESS her, and SHE SHALL BE a MOTHER of NATIONS; kings of peoples shall come from her."

Gen. 17:17 "Then Abraham fell on his face and laughed and SAID IN his HEART, SHALL A CHILD BE BORN TO A MAN THAT IS HUNDRED YEARS OLD? And shall SARAH WHO IS NINETY YEARS OLD, BEAR A SON?

 

:19 But YHWH said, SARAH YOUR WIFE SHALL BEAR you a SON INDEED, and you shall CALL HIS NAME ISAAC [laughter]; and I WILL ESTABLISH MY COVENANT or SOLEMN PLEDGE WITH HIM for an EVERLASTING COVENANT and with his POSTERITY AFTER him.

 

:20 And AS FOR ISHMAEL, I HAVE HEARD AND HEEDED YOU: Behold, I WILL BLESS him and will MAKE HIM FRUITFUL and will MULTIPLY him EXCEEDINGLY; HE WILL BE THE FATHER of 12 PRINCES, and I WILL MAKE him a GREAT NATIONS [fulfilled in Gen. 25:12-18].

 

:21 BUT MY COVENANT, MY PROMISE AND PLEDGE, I WILL ESTABLISH WITH ISAAC, whom SARAH WILL BEAR to you at this season next year.

 

:23 And Abraham took ISHMAEL his son and all that were BORN IN HIS HOUSE and ALL WHO WERE BOUGHT WITH HIS MONEY, EVERY MALE AMONG [those] of ABRAHAM'S HOUSE, and CIRCUMCISED THEM the VERY SAME DAY, as YHWH SAID to him.

 

:24 And Abraham was 99 YEARS OLD when he was circumcised. :25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when he was circumcised. :26 On the very same day Abraham was circumcised, and Ishmael his son as well. :27 And ALL the MEN OF HIS HOUSE, both those born in the house and those bought with money from a foreigner were CIRCUMCISED ALONG WITH him."

 

Abba, thank You for YOUR WORD. Help us FATHER to BE OBEDIENT - OBEDIENT like Abraham - to have FAITH like Abraham - to FOLLOW YOU WHOLEHEARTEDLY and HABITUALLY like NOAH and ABRAHAM. Thank YOU for TEACHING US - for GIVING US YOUR WORD - for SAVING US FROM OURSELVES - to ENABLE us TO WALK and TALK the GODLY WALK AND TALK.  Thank You MESSIAH for SHOWING US THE WAY - for REDEEMING US with YOUR OWN BLOOD. (JAPHETH meaning 'OPENED' 'ENLARGED' - 'FAIR')

The SONS of JAPHETH: Gen. 10:2 "The sons of Japhet: GOMER, MAGOG, MADAI, JAVAN, TUAL, MESHECH and TIRAS. The sons of Gomer: ASHKENAZ, RIPHATH and TOGARMAH. The sons of JAVAN: ELISHAH, TARSHISH, KITTIM AND DODANIM. From these the COASTLAND PEOPLES SPREAD. Japheth – (The Japhetites) From the 7 sons of Japhet (meaning “opened”– “enlarged” – “fair” or “light”) father of the Caucasean/Indo-European, Caucasoid/Indo-Europoid, Indo-Germanic, or Indo-Aryan races – Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech and Tiras.

Each of the 7 sons of Japhet became a nation on its own and in the time after the flood and with the tower of Babel they were about four hundred and sixty men (From the Apocrypha Book of Jasher 7:9 -  also see The Bible - Joshua 10:13).
